A record-breaking carol service?

by admin

Worshippers in a Glasgow church took part in a UK-wide attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records this evening.

Netherauldhouse Evangelical Church was the only church in Glasgow to take part in Premier Christian radio station’s attempt to beat last year’s record when 18,100 people sang carols simultaneously at various locations throughout the country.

Local MP Tom Harris joined the congregation of more than 200 to sing five carols – Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Away In A Manger and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing – over a period of 15 minutes at precisely 7.00 pm.

“It was a fantastic event,” said Tom. “The singing was energetic and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I just hope we managed to break the record.

“I want to congratulate Netherauldhouse Evangelical Church for taking part in this event and for putting in the work needed to organise it.”
