Tom Harris paid a visit to local postal workers this morning to see how they’re coping at the busiest time of their year.
The Glasgow South MP met Pauline O’Connor, delivery office manager for the G44 delivery area at the Muirend sorting office.
“I know this is the time of year when postal workers could probably do without an MP getting in their way,” said Tom. “But I wanted to take up the offer from Royal Mail, which they make every year, to offer some encouragement to the operation. It’s fascinating to see for yourself how so many thousands of pieces of mail every day are sorted and prepared for delivery.
“Royal Mail do a fantastic job all year round and they deserve our support, especially when so many families’ Happy Christmas depends on them,” he added. “I’m really grateful to Pauline and her fellow workers for giving me the time to chat this morning.”
